Big Congratulations to the NDSL U11s and NDSL U12s that won the DB Sports Tour Manchester Cup on weekend just gone. After 3 grueling days of football both teams made the final on Sunday.

The U12s having beat Arsenal in the Semis played Chester Academy in the Final. This game was a cracker watched by a huge crowd in Sale University Sports Grounds , Finishing 1.1 in normal time it went to extra time , the winning goal was worthy to win any final with fantastic build up play from the goalkeeper , through midfield it was worked out wide to Cian Warren  our electric quick winger that tore past the full back and delivered a whipped cross from right hand side with Simon Ankundal coming in like a steam train to blast past the keeper with his head. The ground erupted with celebration , but deep deep into extra time Aaron Davies pulled off a world class save to deny the penalty shoot out.  The final whistle brought great celebration with a pitch invasion with a couple of parents in the middle of it. Also our other 12s finished 4th overall.

Our U11s where split into 3 sides.  With one side playing delightful football all the way through tournament the reached the final having won 6 games scoring over 30 goals to reach the final , in the final the faced Pro Academy a selection Academy from Manchester. Again this final was watched by a huge crowd and boys got down to business quickly racing into a 3 .0 lead. This team had attracted a lot of neutral support due to their footballing style and with Val Adeokun up front scoring 15 goals with 5 in the final they ran out 7.1 winners.

The other 2 11s sides finished 3rd and 5th so a tremendous showing from all the boys.

The NDSL where extremely professional bringing away 56 young players  over the weekend and the boys where a credit to their clubs and Families. Also the parents where fantastic in their support and behavior at every game which lead to a really good atmosphere at the tournament. Well done to all.

Also a special mention to Adam Green , poor Adam got very sick on the morning of the NDSL Leaving and missed the trip. We know his back on his feet but the lads where thinking of him in Manchester.
